The Mission Entertainment is a management/production company representing and working with content creators with unique voices who have a conscious, informed and aware viewpoint of the world that’s expressed through art and entertainment.

We focus on being an advocate for those that who by virtue of their "otherness" - whether race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic or geographic background - have been counted out of the ranks of what the entertainment industry considers viable, marketable or appealing. By working to shift the framework of expectation and assumption, we believe that we can not only find innovative ways of connecting with audiences around the world but also create possibilities for the continued success of diverse talent in the future. We believe that the only way to change the product that is put out, and ultimately the way that we as human beings relate to each other, is to change those who are creating it. This is our goal and our primary objective.

Our diverse experience and background has led to an expansive portfolio of interests – through a variety of roles, we help to create and produce stories across a wide range of media – from television shows such as The Night Of (HBO), The Chi (Showtime), and the upcoming Netflix series Gente-Fied to films like Red Sparrow (2018) and Ready Player One (2018). We have also worked in theatre, Broadway to regional, and produced short form documentary films on victims of police killings. Our most recent producing credits include:

Queen & Slim (2019) starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith — Directed by Melina Matsoukas and written by Lena Waithe

Twenties (2020) on BET — created by Lena Waithe and starring Jonica Gibbs, Christina Elmore, and Gabrielle Graham

We have clients working in the television, feature, and digital space with projects at Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Amazon, FX, TBS, and BET as well as credits that include: A Black Lady Sketch Show (HBO), Blindspot (NBC), Boomerang (BET), The Chi (Showtime), Dear White People (2014), Divorce (HBO), Gente-fied (Netflix), Master of None (Netflix), Ready Player One (2018), Search Party (TBS), Step Sisters (2018), Succession (HBO), Vaya (2018), and Westworld (HBO).
