Eep! I don't have anyone in particular, but I'd love to be one of those creators who discover new talent, especially for the Latinx community.

Anything by Maya Angelou.

When you’re not creating you are:

Dancing, traveling, exploring nature, hanging with my day-ones, and enjoying the sweet company of my familia. :-)

Uff. So many! But immigration and the crisis at the border is a big one for me.

What does the Mission mean to you?

The Mission means family, heart, creativity, and dreams coming true. I love y'all so much!

Linda Yvette Chávez is an award-winning chingona and Xicana screenwriter/producer. Because you don’t see much of those in Hollywood, Linda has made it her mission to tell authentic Latinx stories on screen. Recently, she did just that by co-creating, co-executive producing and writing Netflix’s much-anticipated series Gentefied with her creative partner-in-crime Marvin Lemus. What started as a digital series executive produced by America Ferrera and MACRO, that premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, grew into a TV series at the center of a six-network bidding war. She’s so happy it found its home at Netflix and hopes it will capture the hearts of many more when it premieres in 2020.

While working on Gentefied, Linda adapted I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, a New York Times best-selling novel and National Book Award finalist, into a feature film for Anonymous Content (The Revenant, Spotlight, 13 Reasons Why). She also spent time in the writer’s room of Nickelodeon’s Emmy award-winning series The Loud House where she wrote an adorable episode featuring the Casagrandes.

In a former life, Linda helped form and establish COMEDIVA, a successful digital platform and production studio that developed comedy content specifically targeted to women. As VP of Programming, she developed, wrote, and produced tons of viral sketches and web series for clients like Nickelodeon, MiTu Network, Pepsi, and Univision where she was responsible for co-visioning and establishing Univision's first English-language digital platform, FLAMA.

Linda’s work has received millions of views and has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, Wired, AdWeek, and The Huffington Post.
